I think the main concern with alot of us geo-modelers is the concept
that we all poured 100's (if not 1000's!) of hours into the creation
of a virtual gold mine of 3D models - for what we thought was a "free"
community effort (here, I am JUST talking about the GoogleEarth 3D
building layer).

But now we get the hint that instead, our models have been turned into
a product to sell to Trimble, who will now be able to re-sell it as
add-ons for GPS/GIS products!

Perhaps if we, the 3D modelers were to be compensated for our efforts
somehow this would be a bit more OK?

Otherwise, maybe a "palace revolt" wherein we ALL delete every single
one of our freely-donated GoogleEarth works might get some attention?
Imagine how empty the 3D layer would become if we all did this?!

And imagine the cost to replace all these models to restore the very
rich 3D layer to even a fraction of its current state?
