Finally, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney 2009 reunion benefit show headed for TV

"Change Begins Within," the 2009 Radio City Music Hall benefit for the David Lynch Foundation that featured an on-stage reunion by Beatles Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, will finally make its TV debut next month almost three years after the show initially took place.

Sources tell Beatles Examiner that the show will finally premiere on New York PBS stations WNET and WLIW at the end of April. The program will then be offered to PBS affiliates nation in the U.S. for the next two years. It's not known yet which affiliates will pick up the show. Fans wanting to see the show should contact their local PBS affiliates and express their interest.
The show, which ran over three hours, will last roughly 90 minutes and feature appearances by each of the featured acts on the show. It will include the majority of Paul McCartney's set, including his songs with Ringo Starr, "Cosmically Conscious," the surprise addition to the set, and the finale, "I Saw Her Standing There."
The show took place on April 4, 2009, before a sold-out audience at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Besides the two Beatles, performers included Donovan, Ben Harper, Moby, Bettye Lavette, Angelo Badalamenti, Eddie Vedder, Sheryl Crow, Mike Love, Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Horn and Howard Stern.
There's no definite word on a DVD or CD release of the show, though a DVD as a bonus for contributions to PBS is being considered.
The show was a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation, which works to fund the teaching of transcendental meditation in schools and to other "at risk" groups.
